Rebecca Jane Sackett (Becky), age 85, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Orangevale, CA.  Becky was born on July 24th, 1935 to the late Norine and Robert Thomas Humphries in Cadiz, KY. She attended Butler High School and Murray State College in Kentucky. On Christmas day in 1956, Becky was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ned Lockhart Sackett. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage together.

Ned and Becky settled in Newton, IA where they raised four daughters and were active community members.  Becky was a loving mother and homemaker and could always be found in the front row of her daughter’s concerts and sporting events showing her endless support.  Becky enjoyed celebrating special occasions, making Christmas and birthdays unforgettable.  She would often construct these occasions herself, creating precious memories for her children and grandchildren.  This included directing a family play, organizing a city-wide scavenger hunt and numerous craft projects that were enjoyed by all.

In addition, Becky enjoyed working as a Welcome Wagon hostess for many years, welcoming new families to town or celebrating the birth of their new child.  Becky’s unwavering faith in God led her to be an active church member, serving as a deacon at The First Presbyterian Church in Newton, IA for many years.

Becky is the cherished mother of Sheryl Lewis (Gordon), Diane Frausto (David), Brenda Burnett (Brad), and Nancy Randles (Jeffrey); beloved sister of Ann Thomas and niece of Sue Ellen McIntire and adored grandmother and great grandmother of twenty-two.
