By promoting the novelty of aprons, Aunt Alma would be remembered for her resourcefulness and the wearing of the apron. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease that affects many families world wide. My hope is that research can find a cure or improved treatment for the brain disease, and I want to be able to make monetary contributions for that effort.

  1. MELANIE

I recently started this sewing business in honor of Aunt Alma, whose inspiration and guidance set the course for my passion in sewing. Thank you to all my supporters, including my family and friends who encouraged me to the fullest. I am just getting started, and I plan to continue to donate a portion of my proceeds to further the research to combat this terrible brain disease that affects many. From the bottom of my heart, and Big Thank You!

Pocket insert:
“Being a big influence in my formative years, Aunt Alma taught me many skills. Of all the things this gentle woman had shared, I grew to love sewing the most. And- she always wore her apron. ‘The Apron’ has a long and useful history. It’s mainly worn to protect your clothing while cooking, baking, or working in the garden. The apron’s edge can dry a child’s tear, or the sweat of a brow. It also holds apples picked fresh from the tree. Those pockets hold many treasures like recipes, mailbox greetings, or wildflowers. I still have my apron that Aunt Alma made for me long ago. I want to continue the legacy of my aunt and her aprons. She was always thrifty and never wasteful so these aprons can be made from left over scraps of materials, and repurposed items. They can be a certain theme, colorful, and even whimsical. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone-the secret ingredient? Made with Love “
